Licence Guide

I offer multiple licence options for digital surface pattern designs including personal use, small batch, commercial fabric manufacturing and exclusive licences.

Licences come into effect on delivery of the licence agreement, which is usually sent to the recipient within 1 business day (Monday to Friday).

After purchase, you will receive:

  • 1 file with the seamless pattern repeat tile
  • 1 licence agreement

Please be aware that the scale of product images on the website is not representative of the final size provided; please see repeat sizing details on the product page for an indicator of repeat scale. Please note that product images on the website only show a section of the pattern at low resolution and are not suitable for printing; please wait until you have received the TIFF pattern repeat after purchase.

All designs remain the copyright property of Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams). All rights reserved. Digital products are not permitted for resale or distribution as a digital product (for example on a print-on-demand website). Designs must not be reproduced, copied or adapted without express written permission from Nat Gwilliams. Digital products are supplied as finished works. Requests for alterations, amendments or customisation are not included unless expressly agreed in writing.

Licence Types

Personal Use

  • Permits the licensee the use of the design for personal projects only, such as home crafts, personal garments or gifts.
  • The design is not permitted to be used for commercial purposes by the licensee, including the sale or promotion of products.
  • The design may not be modified or reproduced in any way by the licensee other than that stated in these terms or by written consent from Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams).
  • The licence cannot be shared, sublicensed, sold or distributed in any form by the licensee.
    Licence is non-exclusive; other licences and products using this design may be sold by Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams).
  • Copyright ownership is retained by Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams).

Small Batch

  • Permits the licensee the manufacture and sale of up to 250 fabric products or 100 metres of fabric for up to 1 year using the licenced design within the United Kingdom only.
  • The design may not be modified or reproduced in any way by the licensee other than that stated in these terms or by written consent from Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams).
  • This licence cannot be shared, sublicensed, sold or distributed in any form by the licensee.
  • Licence is non-exclusive; other licences and products using this design may be sold by Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams).
  • The licensee shall ensure the design is credited to Nat Gwilliams in any editorial use of the artwork. Credits for non-editorial use are not required unless previously agreed by Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams) in writing.
  • Copyright ownership is retained by Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams).

Commercial Fabric Manufacturing

  • Permits the licensee the manufacture and sale of up to 1000 metres of fabric for up to 2 years using the licenced design within the United Kingdom only.
  • The design may not be modified or reproduced in any way by the licensee other than that stated in these terms or by written consent from Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams).
  • This licence cannot be shared, sublicensed, sold or distributed in any form by the licensee.
  • Licence is non-exclusive; other licences and products using this design may be sold by Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams).
  • The licensee shall ensure the design is credited to Nat Gwilliams in any editorial use of the artwork. Credits for non-editorial use are not required unless previously agreed by Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams) in writing.
  • Copyright ownership is retained by Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams).

Extended Commercial Fabric Manufacturing

  • Permits the licensee the manufacture and sale of up to 5000 metres of fabric for up to 3 years using the licenced design within the United Kingdom only.
  • This licence cannot be shared, sublicensed, sold or distributed in any form by the licensee.
  • The design may not be modified or reproduced in any way by the licensee other than that stated in these terms or by written consent from Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams).
  • Licence is non-exclusive; other licences and products using this design may be sold by Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams).
  • The licensee shall ensure the design is credited to Nat Gwilliams in any editorial use of the artwork. Credits for non-editorial use are not required unless previously agreed by Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams) in writing.
  • Copyright ownership is retained by Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams).

UK Exclusive Fabric Licence

  • Permits the licensee the manufacture and sale of fabric products for up to 3 years using the licenced design within the United Kingdom only.
  • Exclusivity expires after 3 years.
  • The design may not be modified or reproduced in any way by the licensee other than that stated in these terms or by written consent from Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams).
  • No other licences will be sold in the UK for this exact design during the licencing period by the licensor (licences and products using this design may have previously been sold to other customers and those licences and products will not be impacted by this licence).
  • This licence cannot be shared, sublicensed, sold or distributed in any form by the licensee.
  • The licensee shall ensure the design is credited to Nat Gwilliams in any editorial use of the artwork. Credits for non-editorial use are not required unless previously agreed by Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams) in writing.
  • Copyright ownership is retained by Natalie Gwilliams (trading as Nat Gwilliams).
